Alexandernaut (Alexander Randon) is an indie music app developer / electrical engineer / composer based in San Francisco.

With a passion for music technology as both a developer and musician, creating music software is simply part of his music-making process. Countless prototypes are built with Ableton Live, MaxMSP, Monome, TouchOSC, and Lemur — tools which inspire him both musically and technically. His professional mission is to rebuild selected prototypes as robust, standalone applications.

He’s the creator of ARPEGGIONOME (featured on the App Store homepage 7/2014), ARPIO (500K+ downloads on the Play Store), and FUGUE MACHINE, the world’s first multi-playhead piano roll.

Alexander is an active member of the San Francisco Creative Coding community, participating with GRAY AREA FOUNDATION FOR THE ARTS and other art/technology organizations. He’s a founding member of Gray Area’s non-profit CULTURAL INCUBATOR and works out of his office/studio within HYDE STREET STUDIOS — a historic music studio in the Tenderloin District.
